So, did you hear the one about the high school teacher who walked into a comedy club--and they hired him? That's where the Tim Cavanagh comedy story begins. For a full year, Tim taught teenagers by day. By night, he sang his funny songs in Chicago comedy clubs. "Not surprisingly, I found the biggest difference between the classroom and the nightclub was the drunks--which I generally let the principal handle," Tim says.
Since leaving the classroom, Tim has become a recognized comedy force. The quick-witted, word-twisting comedy songwriter and stand-up comedian is making his mark through his frequent guest appearances on radio shows across the country.
He can be heard regularly on The Bob & Tom Show where he is best known for his "One Minute Songs." Tim has written and performed over one hundred and fifty One Minute Songs on Bob & Tom, covering topics from gas prices and Viagra to Enron and the equinox.
Tim is currently on tour in comedy clubs across America, entertaining audiences with his unique style of comedy which blends jokes, funny songs, and playful audience interaction. His basically clean act is sold as much by the character he adopts on stage as by the jokes.
Ticket costs are $15 and are available online at www.dixontheatre.com and at the door. Doors open 1 hour before the show.
