Parade
This year's Parade Theme is "Small Town, Big Pride: It's a Petunia Party!" It was a combination of ideas submitted by Teresa Wargo & Rachel LeSage's 6th Grade Homeroom Classes at Reagan Middle School. We received extremely creative ideas and thank all of the classes at RMS, Faith Christian and St. Anne schools that submitted their ideas.
We are honored to have Jayne Rose as our Grand Marshall this year; one of our communities notable artists & business woman. Jayne received the 2008 IAAE "Illinois Advocacy for Arts Education" Artist of the Year Award on March 11th, 2008 to add to the long list of Awards & Honors she has achieved. You can see her work on display at the Colonial Rose Inn, Grand Detour and at The Next Picture Show, Dixon.
The 44th annual Parade will once again host the South Shore Drill Team as one of the parade entries. Additionally, the parade will include: Floats, music, clowns, novelty units & more. This is an event not to be missed!
The Parade Route will start at 7th Street and Peoria Avenue (same route as last year).
Judging will once again take place at Haymarket Square.
